Cupcake Adventures

For christmas I got a book called "What's new Cupcake?" and ever since I have looked for an opportunity to make adorable cupcakes. A few weeks ago Justin and I went to his Dad Kim and Kathy's house in Wanship Utah. I decided to make these beachy cupcakes in honor of thier trip to California and the fact that I miss the beach and warm weather.

I made yummy Pumpkin spice cupcakes, frosted them with homeade vanilla buttercream. The sand is made from brown and white sugar mixed together. I made the flip flops from melted chocolate which I piped onto parchment, and some frosting for the straps. Coming up next... another cupcake adventure!

2011!

Happy New Year! As we welcome the new year we look forward to new adventures and probably make some resolutions (which might not last till next month) so I am determined for mine to stick.

Here are my new years resolutions:
1. Read the scriptures daily.
2. Pray daily.
3. Make a monthly budget, and follow it.

I know I don't have very many, but that's all that I can think of right now. Our first adventure of 2011 has been to move in to a lovely basement apartment in Layton, Utah. We started our move on Saturday and have gotten everything unpacked today despite us both being sick (yuck.) It is a roomy 900 square feet with one bedroom, 1 bathroom and an open living/dining/kitchen area. Since a description wouldn't give you the full effect, I'll post some pictures.

We are really enjoying ourselves here already and hope to enjoy it even more when we are healthy. We hope you are having a great year so far, and have many more adventures to come.
