Days 24 and 25

Homeade with love
Since my mom informed my I was behind on my photo challenge I decided I should post these pictures. For this one I started out by making homeade chicken stock (it made the house smell SO good) and then added carrots, celery, chicken, and finished it of with the family recipe for homeade pasta noodles. It was delicious!

I see salsa in your future
This is my fruit/ veggie bowl that sits in my kitchen. right now it holds the ingredients for fresh salsa, homeade french fries, and some cupcake decorations. Don't worry, I'll be sure to post pictures of the cupcakes here too.

Days 21 and 22

"The Claw!"
Yesterday we went to Golden Corrall to celebrate Kim Hugie's birthday. When we met up with the rest of the family Jocelyn immediately attached herself to Justin. They were admiring all of the stuffed animals in the claw game when I snapped the picture.
Mountain vista
This was taken from my car today. This morning it was really overcast and boring, but by late afternoon the sun came out and the clouds broke up revealing this goregous scene over the mountains.

Day 20

Hole in the Fence
This was taken outside our house, I love the texture and color of the wood, and the holes it naturally has.

Days 18 and 19

Hugs & kisses
Happy Valentines Day! I know the actual holiday was on monday... But Justin and I decided to celebrate surrounded by thousands of people at Disneyland (not very romantic ) So in my mind Valentines was yesterday. I bought some of these candy hearts and some candles to make a centerpiece for dinner. For dinner I made Salmon with a lemon-herb compound butter (for Justin) paprika dusted Chicken (for me) garlic and chive mashed potatoes, and asparagus with lemon. I also made apple crisp for dessert (a total Justin favorite.)
Flower power
These are the goregous flowers that my wonderful husband brought home for me on Valentines. I really love their color, in person they are a light pink-ish-violet with slightly green centers. Although roses are typical (and may be prefered by some) I like these bright cheery ones better.

Days 13, 14,15, 16, and 17

Family

<--- Day 13... sort of. This was taken at Disneyland, we stopped to stare because the ducklings were just too cute!
-------> Day 16. This was taken from the car while traveling
home from California. I love that the moon was so bright
that I could get a decent picture with my camera

My traveling star
<-----Day 15 This was taken at Huntington Beach. There were tons of of shells on the shore as well as hermit crabs. It was an overcast day but that didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves. I love that the peir is in the backround. I have lots of wonderful memories there including: a first date, and a marriage proposal
Sea Shells on the Seashore
with my now hubby Justin.

Ben-ja-Mania
Day 14-----> This was taken while waiting in line for Toy Story Mania in Disney's California Adventure. My little cousin Benjamin decided he was going to be funny by making faces and having his glasses sideways.

 <><><><>
(above) another for day 14... I just couldn't decide which picture I liked better. This was also taken at Disney's California Adventure
<><><><>
Snowy Pines
Day 17 It snowed sideways last night as we traveled home and this morning most of the trees had snow on only one side. I love the texture of the trees, and how interesting they look with snow stuck to the branches.

P.S. I apologize that this post is 1. late 2. out of order and 3. and messy. I'm sure I'll get more creative with my posts soon.

Days 10, 11 and 12

So I know I said I had to post them each day but I hit a snag in my plan... The two hotels we stayed in didn't have the internet. So from now on I'm going to try my best to get them up the day I take them.
wired sky

Today we drove from home to Mesquite, this was taken at a CNG station in st. George. I like the super clear blue sky and the texture on the barbed wire, as well as the sunlight in the corner.

silent gazebo
Today I was in mesquite trying to find something to do while the boys were golfing. There isn't very much to do in Mesquite, so I sat in this gazebo in front of our hotel.

Molly's smile
Today we got to Newport Beach and met up with lots of our friends including this darling one, Molly Holland (held by Jolie Kapahua) We even went down to the beach at sunset to put our feet in the sand.

Day 9

Waffle Night
This morning I thought that my photo challenge might have to take a break, because I wasn't able to find my camera charger. After about an hour of tearing the house apart, I found it! So here is a picture of what we had for dinner since it was too dark to shoot outside. I'm not sure how you like your waffles but here's our toppings of choice: Justin likes butter and syrup, I like strawberry jam. (just in case you wanted to know)

Day 8

Through my eyes
My interntion for today was something a bit more interesting, but my camera seems to be running out of batteries. So I thought on my feet and used my glasses and the wonderful light streaming through the window onto the bed. I hope I find my charger, especially since we're leaving on thurs for California.

Day 7

Broccoli soup
Today I decided to make some homeade soup, and then thought I'd play food stylist for today's shoot. I made a roasted broccoli and potato soup with mozzarella cheese and toasted bread. Let me tell you a secret... don't try to be a food stylist while you're hungry!

Day 6

Kato
I took this picture at Kim and Kathy Hugie's house. Kato is a total spitfire and doesn't hold still unless he's asleep, I'm glad I could catch this very momentary calm he had in between him attacking my camera.

Day 5

sunset sillouette
Today there were clouds which always makes for a pretty picture, and I was out side while the sun was going down. I love the colors the sun makes while it sets, because they are different day to day. I found these trees right outside our house, and liked the contrast against the sky.

Day 4

reaching
I know it's only day four but...I am finding it a little difficult to be inspired every day by brown plants and melting snow. I have been looking for something green outside to break up the browns and greys. I found this little plant coming through the rocks outside of our apartment.

Day 3

Windows
Today I tried to find some inspiration outside, but the pictures didn't turn out. I am determined to get some good pictures outside soon. Instead I decided to go for a self portrait of sorts. I have always been fascinated with eyes and the way they can reflect the world around them.

Day 2

up, up, and away!
Today and yesterday have been very cold and windy and I havent wanted to venture outdoors to shoot. So here is one from the comfort of my own apartment. This is my darling little Sweet Basil plant. Justin always asks "Can we eat it yet?" I like having a little reminder that spring is coming, since the weather has been cold.

February Photo Challenge: Day 1

I found a way to be creative on a budget. I am doing a Febraruy photo challenge, One picture a day through the month of February.

Here are my rules:
1. The picture has to be taken the day it was posted.
2. The pictures can be altered, but only cropped, changed to black &white, or brightness adjusted.
3. There needs to be at least 2 of the following: self-portraits, Macro, and night pictures.
4. Each picture needs to be titled.

Mountain winds
This was taken in South Ogden, from my car because it was freezing cold and very windy. I think this is a good start to my challenge, let's see if I can keep it up.
